Sustainable Energy in 2026: Brazil at the Center of the Global Energy Transition
Brazil ended 2024 with 88.2% of its electrical matrix made up of renewable sources, according to EPE's 2025 National Energy Balance. In 2026, the country occupies a unique position in the global sustainable energy scenario: while consolidating one of the cleanest matrices in the world, it faces concrete challenges of scale, storage, financing and geopolitical climate pressure in the post-COP30 period.
